Why replace your lighting
Lighting is one of the first things residents, pupils and staff notice when it fails, and one of the easiest places to save energy. Replacing old fittings across a whole building or estate in one planned project avoids years of piecemeal repairs.
LED fittings use far less energy than the fluorescent and halogen lights they replace, and they last much longer, so both running costs and maintenance visits come down.
Emergency lighting matters just as much. Stairwells and escape routes have to stay lit when the mains supply fails, and emergency lighting in the UK is covered by BS 5266. When we replace it, the new installation is tested and an emergency lighting certificate is issued.

Can you replace lighting in a building people are living in?
Yes. Our lighting projects have been on occupied residential sites, including more than 200 communal light fittings at Newland Gardens in Hertford, so we plan the work in sections to keep areas usable.
Do you replace emergency lighting as well as general lighting?
Yes. At Free Trade Wharf we replaced the stairwell emergency lighting across the site, more than 180 fittings.
What certificates do you issue?
It depends on the work: a Minor Works certificate for alterations and additions, an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) for new circuits and installations, and an emergency lighting certificate for emergency lighting.
Is switching to LED worth it?
In most buildings, yes. LED fittings use less energy and last longer than older fluorescent and halogen lighting, which lowers running costs and the number of lamp changes.
